At Hague Bar, developing a love of reading is a key priority. We begin to teach reading in Reception class using the Monster Phonics DfE approved scheme until they become confident independent readers. They then move on to selcting their own choice of reading book, with some guidance from the teacher, to enable them to develop their love of reading.
